We are doing something a little different this coming book club to celebrate Matariki, integrating some powerful, personal reflections into our space.
We have now gathered as a group for over a year! We have talked about lots of different books and powerful content together over this time. Our next book club is a space for us to talk about our work, those meaningful moments, and we encourage each and every one of you to write your story!!!
We encourage you to write a personal reflection around a piece of social work/work helping others that is now, forever etched on your heart. We want to capture the amazing work that is happening in our community and want this to be a forum to inspire. More to come in this space, so stay tuned! We hope you all join us
When you reflect back on your practice, what is the one case, that still to this day brings you joy? We want to hear stories that have re-ignited the passion for our profession. Through story telling we can harness and share this light with others!!!
If you don’t have a case study to share. You might want to share your own story around why you are in the field of practice you are in and what drew you to it?
You might want to tell a story that demonstrates your greatest strength and how this shows in the work you do with others
Your story is YOURS. If you want to share something completely different and feel that our Book club is the space to share it in, we welcome your contribution
Still unsure or feel nervous about sharing?
That’s OK!!!
You are still more than welcome to come along and be a part of the space. Come and listen to the amazing, inspiring stories shared by others.
So, you might be thinking- what can I share, how long does my story have to be and how will it all work on the day?
A story in this forum, is up to one page long in written form.
It must not contain any information that may identify someone you have supported in the community. We must uphold the mana of those we serve and protect their confidentiality. Please DO NOT include names, or any personal information.
We will share our stories/reflections as a group. If you aren’t much of a ‘writer’ feel free to bring along some artwork, or notes that may help you on the day.
